A Dance & Drama short course
For this unit of study, you are going to be the Choreographer! You are going to learn how music is chosen to depict certain characters, how that feels in our bodies and our response to that with movement, what Status is and Story Structure, and then finally using a special piece of curated music, choreograph a dance and drama performance! This course has 5 Chapters so it might take you 5 weeks to complete, or you might choose to spend a couple of weeks working intensely on it, creating your final performance, it’s up to you!

[email protected]Sarah Williams is a qualified performing arts teacher, who has lived and breathed the theatre life since she could talk. She has a Bachelor of Arts Hons (Drama and Dance) and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching, as well as her Associate Diploma in Classical Ballet with the Australian Institute of Classical Dance.
Sarah has worked in many quality Adelaide schools including Wilderness, Scotch and Westminster, as well as performing arts schools Theatre Bugs and Mighty Good Talent. She is a freelance choreographer, teaching dance at Total Image Dance Company and is a dance tutor in the Adelaide Festival Theatre's OnStage program. She also continues to dance as part of Dance Alive’s Ballet Company.
In 2017 she co-founded the theatre company The Gemini Collective. Their first Fringe show “Ivy + Bean the Musical '' was a 2018 Fringe Festival highlight receiving a 5 star Advertiser review, followed by "A Thousand Cranes' ' in 2019 and 2020, which also toured to Perth Fringe Festival. “ A Thousand Cranes” won the Best Youth Theatre show in the Adelaide Curtain Call Awards in 2019.
Some of her adult career highlights include touring Adelaide and Victoria with The Wiggles touring cast (2003-2004), starting her own dance school in the Flinders Ranges, and choreographing for theatre companies around Adelaide. Her most recent shows being “Saturday Night Fever” and “We Will Rock You” for Matt Byrne Media, and “Kinky Boots” and “Evita” for the Gilbert and Sullivan Society.
